In Arte y Cocina, students will have the opportunity to cook and make art with our veteran cook and Spanish teacher, Maestra Chara. The class is hands on, interactive, fun, and of course, in Spanish! 

Each week, students will make an art project and a snack, using ingredients we will have sent over to families at the beginning of the week. The snack will be easy to make, but delicious, and all recipes/ ingredients will be done in Spanish. If you've ever had the opportunity to do cooking with Maestra Chara, you know she always brings exciting flavors to the table! 

Classes are once a week on Friday afternoons. Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels are available. 

In Around the World, students will be "traveling" around the globe with Maestra Joanne, exploring corners of our beautiful planet. From India to Perú, students will learn about traditions, typical food and natural wonders. 

Maestra Joanne loves traveling, and is excited to explore a corner of the world with her students each week.

The CM Language Enrichment Program - Spanish, is a learning journey for kids and customized to fit the needs of the students and parents. It's an opportunity to engage kids in learning about the Spanish language, including the cultures of the countries where Spanish is spoken. Using best practices from a variety of second-language teaching strategies, we provide a foundation of basic Spanish phrases and vocabulary. Through movement, Total Physical Response, song, music, art, and reading and listening activities, our students learn to speak, read, write, and love the Spanish language. The biggest goal of our program is to expose our students to the language in an engaging, play- and project-based environment. Our teachers are native or near-native speakers, or have minors or majors in Spanish – and they are all passionate about the language. They all have previous teaching experience and receive ongoing training in classroom management and effective teaching strategies.

Depending on the location, Spanish is taught before or after school. Please inquire to find out if the program you are interested in is running before or after school hours.

We offer Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Spanish online classes!

• No previous knowledge of the Spanish language is necessary for Beginner Spanish. Curiosity and a willingness to learn are!

• Intermediate Spanish is for students who have 1-2 years of previous Spanish experience, or have had some Spanish exposure at home/ in their community.

• Advanced Spanish is for  students who have  3+ years of previous Spanish experience, or have had a considerable amount of Spanish exposure at home/ in their community.

Through games, group work, team and individual competitions, Math Club provides enrichment, encouragement, and math fun once a week. CM’s highly-trained and engaging instructors will teach, challenge, and nurture your numbers-crazy student!
