What
Makes Us Different?
There are a lot
of tutoring services. What makes Classroom Matters different?
Personalized
Approach
Classroom Matters
provides a network of services for families. In addition to one-on-one
tutoring, we confer directly with parents a minimum of twice a month,
contact teachers about the progress of our students, and refer families
to other local services that we feel will be helpful to students and
parents alike. We are proud of our personalized approach and truly enjoy
spending time talking with the families at Classroom Matters. Our tutors
are well-rounded individuals who care about their students on many levels.
These tutors take the time to find out what makes each of their clients
tick and what they care about. Classroom Matters tutors are constantly
going the extra mile to connect with their students and create respectful
and productive relationships with them.
Active
Learning Environment
The Classroom Matters
center provides a nourishing and warm environment where students feel
invited to learn. While many tutors work directly in people's homes,
Classroom Matters subscribes to the philosophy that the best learning
takes place where the three major aspects of learning are addressed:
the emotional (one-on-one tutoring), the social (interacting with and
observing others who are learning) and the cognitive (problem solving
with tutors and one another). In a center full of active learning, we
find that success and enthusiasm reign.
Experienced
Leadership
As former public
school teachers with years of experience working with teenagers and
parents, the owners of Classroom Matters understand how schools work
as well as the process of learning. Whether it's learning how to advocate
for a student in an overwhelming school environment or negotiating about
studying and privileges at home, Lisa and Molly can lend a sympathetic
ear and give practical advice to help families successfully face the
challenges of education.
